The Benefits of Obedience # 3

The Benefits of Obedience # 3
The Curses of Disobedience

Jer 7:21Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: “Add your burnt offerings to your sacrifices and eat meat.
:22 For I did not speak to your fathers, or command them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices.
:23 But this is what I commanded them, saying, commanded them, saying, 'Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people. And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you.'
:24 Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but followed the counsels and the dictates of their evil hearts, and went backward and not forward.
:25 Since the day that your fathers came out of the land of Egypt until this day, I have even sent to you all My servants the prophets daily rising up early and sending them.
:26 Yet they did not obey Me or incline their ear, but stiffened their neck. They did worse than their fathers.
:27 Therefore you shall speak all these words to them but they will not obey you. You shall also call to them, but they will not answer you.
:28 So you shall say to them, 'This is a nation that does not obey the voice of the Lord their God nor receive correction, Truth has perished and has been cut off from their mouth.

Matt 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all those things shall be added to you.

Abundantly shall we be blessed when we hearken and obey Him.

Jer 12:5 If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you, then how can you contend with horses? And if in the land of peace, in which you trusted, they wearied you, then how will you do in the floodplan of the Jordan?

If you can't trust Him completely now, how will you trust Him when things really get bad?
You may be dealing with a lot of things today, but trust me it can always get worse. And there is coming a day when it will.. What will you do then?

Ex 15:26 and said, “If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord who heals you.

Matt 6:24-”No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.
:25 Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, and what you will put on. Is not there more than food and the body more than clothing?

He is not saying you can't have food or money. Just that your trust can't be in that but in Him.

James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

The welfare of the sinner is laid up for the just.

1 Tim 6:17 Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy.

Matt 11:27 All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.
:28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.
:29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for you souls.

:30 For My Yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
