Diligence

Pr 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Ps 64:1 They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search; both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.

Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him; for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

In the dictionary the definition for diligent is: showing painstaking effort and application in whatever is undertaken; industrious.

Here we are told to keep our heart, search our heart and thoughts and seek Him diligently.

It seems like alot and that it would be difficult to do right? But if you think about it, if we do the last part, seek Him diligently, the rest will happen almost automatically won't it?

If we are truly seeking Him that will keep our heart and thoughts where they need to be all the time. I don't know about you, but I get attacked alot through my thoughts. You know the kind, it won't matter if I watch this show even though there is some bad language, I can handle it, or how about, I am tired so will miss church just this week. Or how about this one, I don't have time to do a bible study/devotion today, there is just so much I need to do, maybe later. Well if you are anything like me later rarely comes. When it does, it has it's own problems, and therefore excuses. Also ever notice how once you miss church or spending time daily in study with the Lord it is so much easier to skip it the next day or next week? Or is this just me?

So this morning when I asked the Lord what I should study and He immediately gave me diligence I knew it was so that He could change me.

May I (and you) keep my (and your) heart and thoughts with diligence today and every day.

Now I am off to diligently clean my home LOL.
