Dwelling with God

Ps 91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
:2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge, and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust.

You can't casually relate to God. The 91st Psalm has many promises and provisions but it is not a magical formula. There are requirements in there too. It works only if you believe it, claim it, and meet the conditions. Just like all of God's word.

It doesn't promise no problems, but that God will be with you through the problems.

First requirement is that you dwell in the secret place of the Most High.

Ps 91:9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

Ps 91:14 Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he hath known my Name.

You must know who God is for you to be able to trust Him.

God is known by many names in verses 1 and 2. Most High, Almighty, Lord, God, my Fortress, my Refuge.

Ps 65:4 Blessed is the man whom Thou chooset, and causest to approach unto Thee, that he may dwell in Thy courts; we shall be satisfied with the goodness of Thy house, even of Thy holy temple.

Dwelling means more then visiting. It is where you live.

Ps 24:3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in His holy place?
:4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

You may know all the songs, all the scriptures, but if your heart isn't right with God none of that matters.

Clean hands represents innocence of evil.

Ps 43:3 O send out Thy light and truth; let them lead me; let them bring me unto Thy holy hill, and to Thy tabernacles.

Does the word ever convict you? What do you do about it? Do you turn to God or away from God?

God isn't going to come down to you. He makes it possible for you to go to Him.

Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Ps 27:4 One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in His temple.

Jer 29:13 And ye shall seek Me, and find Me, when ye shall search for Me with all your heart.

Deut 4:29 But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find Him, if thou seek Him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.

Ps 36:7 How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Thy wings.

Is 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee; because he trusteth in Thee.
:4 Trust ye in the Lord for ever; for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength.

Need peace or strength? I do, and here it tells us how to get it.
