God's Unforeseen Plans

Ruth 1:5 And Mahlon and Chilion died also both of them; and the woman was left of her two sons and her husband.

This is talking about Naomi, Ruth's mother-in-law. Now on the surface, you have to agree this doesn't look very good. Ah, but God has a plan that she is not aware of doesn't He?

Ruth 1:16 And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go: and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:

Do you think God was surprised that Ruth insisted on following Naomi? Of course not! It was all part of God's unforeseen plan. While it was sad that Naomi lost her husband and sons, she was used by God to bring Ruth to the place Boaz was so they could become part of the ancestry of Jesus Christ.

So next time something unforeseen happens, good or bad, hold on to the knowledge that God's plan is at work even when we can't see it.
