1 Cor 12:1 Now concerning spiritual
gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant.
:4 There are diversities of gifts, but
the same Spirit.
:5 There are differences of ministries,
but the same Lord.
:6 And there are diversities of
activities, but it is the same God who works all in all.
:7 But the manifestation of the Spirit
is given to each one for the profit of all:
:8 for to one is given the word of
wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through
the same Spirit,
:9 to another faith by the same Spirit,
to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit,
:10 to another the working of miracles,
to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another
different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.
:11 But one and the same Spirit works
all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.
Gifts of power and demonstration:
- Healinggifts of healing is a literal translation. You cannot preach the gospel and not preach healing.Lk 10:1 After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go.:2 Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.:3 Go your way; behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves.:4 Carry neither money bag, knapsack, nor sandals; and greet no one along the road.:5 But whatever house you enter, first say, 'Peace to this house.':6 And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest on it; if not, it will return to you.:7 And remain in the same house, eating and drinking such things as they give, for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not go from house to house.:8 Whatever city you enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you.:9 And heal the sick there, and say to them, 'The kingdom of God has come near to you.'
Healing is a sign of the kingdom of
God.
Is 53:5 But He was wounded for our
transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the
chastisement for our peace was upon
Him, and by His stripes we are healed.
This prophesied the healing of the
cross.
1 Pet 2:24 who Himself bore our sins
in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live
for righteousness – by whose stripes you were healed.
If healing isn't for today what about :
Jn 3:16 For God so loved the world that
He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should
not perish but have everlasting life.
James 5:14 Is anyone among you sick?
Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over
him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.
Mk 11:22 So Jesus answered and said to
them, “Have faith in God.
:23 For assuredly, I say to you,
whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,'
and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he
says will be done, he will have whatever he says.
:24 Therefore I say to you, whatever
things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you
will have them.
Mk 16:18 they will take up serpents;
and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them;
they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.
Rom 14:10 But why do you judge your
brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall
all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
2 Cor 5:10 For we must all appear
before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the
things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good
or bad.
Mal 3:6 For I am the Lord, I do not
change; therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.
Num 23:19 God is not a man, that He
should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and
will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?
1 Thess 5:24 He who calls you is
faithful, who also will do it.
:25 Brethren, pray for us.
Mark 5:25 Now a certain woman had a
flow of blood for twelve years,
:26 and had suffered many things from
many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better,
but rather grew worse.
:27 When she heard about Jesus, she
came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment.
:28 For she said,” If only I may
touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”
:29 Immediately the fountain of her
blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of
the affliction.
:30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in
Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd
and said, “Who touched My clothes?”
This was supernatural healing.
Mt 14:36 and begged Him that they might
only touch the hem of His garment. And as many as touched it were
made perfectly well.
Mark 6:12 So they went out and preached
that people should repent.
:13 And they cast out many demons, and
anointed with oil many who were sick, and healed them.
All can lay hands, all an pray, all can
anoint. But not all have the gift of healing.
Some have a special anointing for
healing.
When God gives the gift of healing it
is to profit the one who needs the healing.
