I thought I would take a quick minute and post my recipe for tonight. I am making spaghetti and meatballs in the crockpot.
Crockpot Spaghetti and Meatballs
1 pound lean ground meat
1 cup Italian bread crumbs
1 tablespoon dried parsley
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder ( i put more cause we love garlic)
1 egg, beaten
salt and pepper to taste, go easy on the salt cause of the bread crumbs and cheese
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 onion, chopped small
1 can tomato paste
3 cans crushed tomatoes
1 cup beef broth
2 teaspoons dried Italian seasoning
2 teaspoons sugar
2 bay leaves
3 teaspoons salt
pepper to taste
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, parsley, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, egg and seasoning to taste. Mix well and form into 12 meatballs. Store, covered in refrigerator until needed.
In a large saucepan over medium heat, saute the onions and garlic in olive oil till translucent. Add in tomato products, beef broth, sugar and seasonings and bay leaves. Mix well. Transfer to crockpot and cook on low for 2 hours. Add in meatballs and cook at least 2 more hours.
serve over boiled pasta of your choice.
I will have steamed broccoli and garlic bread with it.
